Mari Gorman

Mari Gorman has won Obie Awards for acting performances in Walking to Waldheim, by Mayo Simon, directed by George Sherman at Lincoln Center; The Memorandum, by Vaclev Havel, directed by Joseph Papp at The Public Theatre; and The Hot l Baltimore, by Lanford Wilson, directed by Marshall Mason at The Circle In-the-Square (with Circle Repertory Company). She also received the Theatre World Award, Drama Desk Award and Clarence Derwent Award for her performance as Jackie in The Hot l Baltimore.

She has most recently appeared in Grief, by Craig Lucas, with the Lab
Theatre Company, directed by Michael Warren Powell, and The Tale of the
Allergist's Wife
, at the Ivoryton Playhouse. She has had regular, recurring,
or guest-starring roles on numerous television shows, from Barney Miller to
ER.

Ms. Gorman has also directed many productions, mostly in L.A., where she won the Los Angeles Drama-logue Award for her direction of Vanities, by Jack  Heifner, with Annie Potts.

For many years she has been involved in an investigation of acting, which is
the subject of her book, Strokes of Existence: The Connection of All Things.
